Side by Side Analysis (How to Use & Insights)
For DID platforms, SocialFi teams, and potential buyers/airdrop allocators, activity-based analysis provides a clearer signal than balances alone. Measuring usage frequency, recency, and breadth of interactions helps distinguish active users from dormant addresses. Data for each account can be pulled from the Etherscan API, compared across different wallet groups, and fed into ranking/eligibility algorithms.
From the data, we could gain the knowledge:
- High balance ≠ high value. A wallet with a large balance might be inactive. In that case, it contributes little to a community, and airdrops to such wallets may not drive engagement, even if the wallet has a high net worth.
- High activity correlates with higher value. An address that transacts frequently, regardless of its current balance, indicates real usage (excluding obvious custodial/exchange smart-contract wallets). These are stronger candidates for airdrops from NFT/GameFi projects and tend to score better on SocialFi/DID ratings.
- Signals of Reputation. As mentioned before, in Web3 a wallet functions like a passport or social profile. Many DAOs and SocialFi platforms care more about identity and contribution than pure capital (just like some clubs in our real world). Activities metrics and history help surface reliable contributors and participants in Web3 communities.
